Pure Enrichment dehumidifier shows “EC” and stops dehumidifying.

Safety: Unplug the unit before internal inspection. Do not attempt to open sealed refrigerant lines.

• Check environment: Ensure the room temperature and humidity are within the unit’s operating range. Very low humidity or temperature can cause EC on some models.
• Clean airflow path: Remove and clean the air filter. If accessible, gently vacuum dust from the condenser coil and ensure the rear and side vents are unobstructed.
• Observe coil behavior: With the cover removed (if safe and per manual), plug in and run the unit briefly. If the evaporator coil does not get uniformly cool or only a small section frosts, there may be a refrigerant issue.
• Sensor check: Verify the evaporator temperature sensor is properly attached and its wiring is intact. A faulty sensor can falsely trigger EC.
• Professional service: If cleaning and sensor checks do not clear EC, the sealed system likely has a leak or compressor fault. This requires a licensed refrigeration technician; replacement of the unit is often more economical for small dehumidifiers.
