Possible Causes
Stuck float in bucket, misaligned bucket, defective water level switch, broken float magnet, wiring fault to level sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the bucket.
- Remove and reseat bucket: Pull out the water bucket completely and then reinstall it firmly, ensuring it is fully inserted and level.
- Clean float mechanism: Inside the bucket, locate the float assembly. Clean any slime, scale, or debris that may prevent it from moving freely. Rinse the bucket with warm soapy water and dry.
- Check float movement: Manually move the float up and down; it should move smoothly and return by gravity.
- Inspect bucket switch: On the unit body, locate the bucket switch or sensor. Ensure it is not bent, broken, or obstructed.
- Test with gentle pressure: With the bucket installed and the unit plugged in, gently press on the bucket to ensure good contact with the switch. If E4 disappears when you press, the bucket or switch alignment may need adjustment or replacement.
- Persistent E4: The float switch or water level sensor assembly likely needs replacement.
