Humidifier or dehumidifier displays HI for humidity and does not seem to control properly.

Safety: No internal work is required initially.

• Ventilate the room: Open windows or use an exhaust fan to reduce extreme humidity (e.g., after showering or cooking).
• Relocate unit: Move the appliance away from direct steam sources such as kettles, showers, or humidifiers.
• Dry sensor area: Turn the unit off and allow it to sit for 30–60 minutes to let condensation evaporate from the sensor.
• Clean sensor grill: Gently brush dust from the sensor opening near the control panel or air intake.
• If HI persists in normal conditions: The humidity sensor module may be defective and should be replaced.
