Steps:

Drying: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid, allow it to dry for 24 hours unplugged.

Check for damage: Look for cracks or delamination of the keypad. Replace the keypad / touch panel assembly if damaged.
Display PCB: If the keypad is good but inputs are still erratic, replace the display PCB.
