Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay/PTC, Seized compressor, Low mains voltage, Faulty main PCB compressor drive
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. The compressor can be very hot; allow it to cool before touching.
Steps:
- Check supply voltage: Ensure the unit is plugged directly into a suitable wall socket, not an overloaded extension.
- Test start device: Remove and test or replace the compressor start relay/PTC as described in the E6 procedure.
- Compressor test: Measure compressor winding resistances and check for shorts to earth. Abnormal readings indicate a failed compressor.
- PCB relay: If the compressor does not receive power, inspect the main control PCB relay and tracks for damage.
- Professional replacement: A seized compressor requires replacement by a refrigeration technician.
