Possible Causes
Clogged air filter causing overheating, Faulty temperature sensor, Compressor overheating and tripping thermal protector, Incorrect humidity sensor readings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning or internal checks.
Steps:
- Clean filter and grilles: Ensure the air filter and all vents are clean and unobstructed.
- Check room temperature: Very high ambient temperatures can cause overheating; move the unit to a cooler area.
- Sensor check: Test the ambient and evaporator NTC sensors as described under E1/E2. Replace if readings are unstable.
- Compressor temperature: If the compressor is extremely hot to the touch and the unit cycles off quickly, the compressor may be failing and should be evaluated by a technician.
