Possible Causes
Moisture ingress into touch panel, Damaged keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and display PCB, Faulty display PCB keypad interface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- Dry the panel: If the unit was recently cleaned or exposed to high humidity, unplug it and allow the control panel to dry for 24 hours in a warm, dry room.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and check the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the display PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and not damaged.
- Clean contacts: Gently remove and reinsert the ribbon cable. Use contact cleaner if available.
- Check for cracks: Examine the keypad membrane or touch panel for physical damage. If cracked or delaminated, replace the keypad / touch panel assembly.
- Display PCB: If the keypad is good but F1 persists, the display PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
