Russell Hobbs
Water Tank Full Protection Activated
Dehumidifier shows P1 and stops, water tank may be full

Possible Causes
Water collection tank is full, Tank not seated correctly against tank switch, Faulty tank micro switch or float sensor, Debris preventing float from dropping
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the unit off and unplug before removing the water tank.
Steps:
- Empty the tank: Carefully slide out the water tank and empty it completely. Rinse to remove any sludge or scale.
- Check float movement: If the tank has an internal float, ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the "full" position. Clean as needed.
- Inspect tank seating: Reinsert the tank firmly until it clicks or sits flush. Many Russell Hobbs models use a small lever or switch that the tank must press; ensure nothing is obstructing it.
- Test tank switch: With the unit unplugged and the tank removed, locate the tank full switch in the cavity. Press it by hand and listen for a click. If it feels loose or does not click, it may be faulty.
- Replace switch if needed: If P1 remains even with an empty, correctly seated tank, replace the tank full micro switch / float sensor assembly.
