Possible Causes
Cracked or misaligned water tank, Blocked internal drain channel or spout, Loose drain hose connection, Overfilled tank due to faulty float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping and electrical hazards.
Steps:
- Inspect water tank: Remove the tank and check for cracks, warping, or missing seals. Replace the water collection tank if damaged.
- Clean drain channel: Locate the drain hole or channel from the evaporator tray into the tank. Clear any slime or debris with a flexible brush and flush with warm water (with the unit tilted and unplugged).
- Check continuous drain: If using a hose, ensure it is firmly attached and not leaking at the connection. Use a hose clamp if necessary.
- Float switch: Verify that the float and water level sensor are working so the unit shuts off before overflowing. Replace the float switch assembly if it fails to stop operation when the tank is full.
