Possible Causes
Dirty air filter or blocked airflow, Low refrigerant charge, Iced-up evaporator due to low room temperature, Faulty humidity sensor misreading humidity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or internal inspection.
Steps:
- Clean filter: Remove and wash the air filter. Vacuum dust from inlet and outlet grilles.
- Check room conditions: Ensure doors and windows are closed and the room temperature is within the specified range. Very low temperatures reduce performance.
- Inspect coils: Look at the evaporator and condenser coils. Clean any heavy dust buildup with a soft brush and vacuum.
- Check for frost: If the evaporator is constantly frozen, test the defrost sensor and ensure the unit is not used in too cold an environment.
- Humidity sensor: Compare the unit's humidity reading with a separate hygrometer. If readings are inaccurate, replace the humidity sensor module.
- Sealed system: If airflow is good and coils are clean but still no water is collected, the refrigerant charge may be low and requires professional service.
