Dehumidifier displays E4 and shuts down; may occur after running for some time
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.

Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Sencor dehumidifier. Allow the unit to cool for at least 15–20 minutes before touching internal components.
Steps:
- Check airflow: Remove and clean the air filter with mild soap and water; dry completely. Ensure the air inlet and outlet grilles are not blocked by walls, curtains, or furniture (leave at least 20–30 cm clearance).
- Inspect condenser fan: Remove the rear or side cover to view the condenser fan (near the warm coil). Spin the fan blade by hand (with power disconnected). It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the fan motor may be failing.
- Power-on test (caution): Reassemble enough to run safely, plug in, and observe whether the fan starts whenever the compressor is commanded on. If the compressor runs but the fan does not, replace the condenser fan motor assembly.
- Check temperature sensor: Some Sencor models use a high-temp sensor or thermal fuse on the condenser or compressor. Inspect wiring and connectors; replace any sensor that appears burnt or cracked.
- Ventilation: Ensure the unit is used in a room within the specified temperature range and not inside a closet or enclosed space.
When to call a technician: If E4 recurs despite good airflow and a working fan, the issue may be low refrigerant or a partially blocked capillary tube, which requires a certified refrigeration technician.
