Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display board and main PCB, Damaged touch control PCB, Oxidized connectors from moisture ingress, Faulty main control PCB communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before opening the control panel or accessing internal wiring.

Steps:

  • Access control panel: Remove the top cover or front bezel to expose the display/touch PCB on Sencor dehumidifier models with digital controls.
  • Check ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon or multi-wire harness connecting the control panel to the main PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked in place at both ends.
  • Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or water droplets on the control PCB. If present, dry the board gently with a hair dryer on low heat (from a safe distance) and allow several hours to fully dry.
  • Clean connectors: Use electronic contact cleaner on the connectors if corrosion is visible. Reseat the cables several times to improve contact.
  • Panel replacement: If some buttons or display segments are dead and E6 persists, replace the control panel PCB assembly.
  • Main PCB: If a known-good panel and cable still result in E6, the main control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced.

Tip: Avoid operating the unit in locations where water can drip directly onto the control panel.
