Possible Causes

Stuck float in water tank, Dirty or scaled water level electrodes, Disconnected float switch harness, Failed water level sensor on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the Sencor humidifier before removing the water tank.

Steps:

  • Check water level: Ensure the tank is filled to the minimum mark and properly seated in the base.
  • Inspect float: Remove the tank and locate the float mechanism (often a plastic float inside the base or tank). Make sure it moves freely up and down. Clean any mineral deposits or slime with warm water and mild detergent.
  • Clean electrodes: If your model uses metal water level electrodes, gently clean them with a soft cloth and white vinegar to remove scale.
  • Check switch wiring: Inspect the float switch or sensor wiring harness and connector to the PCB. Reseat the connector.
  • Test switch: With a multimeter, check continuity of the float switch in both positions (tank full vs. empty). Replace the float switch assembly if it does not change state.

Tip: Use distilled or demineralized water to reduce scale buildup on level sensors.
