Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, misaligned bucket, cracked bucket, loose drain hose connection, pump tray overflow due to blockage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.
Steps:
- Inspect bucket: Remove the bucket and check for cracks or overfilling. Ensure it seats fully when reinstalled.
- Internal drain: Locate the drain hole from the evaporator tray into the bucket or pump. Clear any slime or debris with a pipe cleaner.
- Hose connections: If using continuous drain, ensure the hose is firmly attached and sealed at the adapter. Use Teflon tape if needed.
- Leveling: Make sure the dehumidifier is on a level surface so water flows correctly into the drain.
- Pump tray: On pump models, open the pump compartment and clean out any buildup that could cause overflow.
Replace a cracked water bucket or damaged drain adapter if leaks persist.
