Dehumidifier displays F2 and stops; may occur after long operation.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before touching internal parts.
Steps:
- Clean filter and grilles: Wash the air filter and ensure intake and exhaust grilles are clear.
- Inspect fan operation: With panels in place, power the unit and observe if the fan runs strongly. If the fan is weak or not running, see fan motor troubleshooting (E7).
- Clean condenser coil: Remove rear panel and gently vacuum the warm condenser coil. Heavy dust can cause overheating.
- Check placement: Ensure the unit is not placed in a confined space or near heat sources.
- Sensor check: Locate the overheat sensor (often clipped to condenser tubing or compressor shell). Inspect wiring and mounting. Replace the overheat sensor if damaged.
Call a technician if F2 persists after cleaning and verifying fan operation; the compressor may be running too hot due to internal issues or incorrect refrigerant charge.
