Possible Causes

Misaligned water tank, stuck float in base, faulty water level sensor (reed switch or electrode), scale buildup on level electrodes, wiring fault to PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the humidifier before handling the tank or base.

Steps:

  • Remove and refill tank: Take out the water tank, rinse it, refill with clean water, and reinstall carefully so it sits flat.
  • Check float: In the base, locate the float that rises with water level. Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed by scale or debris. Clean with mild vinegar if mineral buildup is present.
  • Electrode sensors: If your Sharp model uses metal electrodes, gently clean them with a soft cloth and vinegar to remove scale.
  • Magnetic sensor: For reed-switch designs, ensure the magnet in the float or tank is intact and aligned with the sensor.
  • Replace level sensor: If H2 persists and the float/tank are correct, replace the water level sensor assembly (reed switch or electrode board).
