Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay, Open overload protector, Faulty start capacitor (if used), Control board not sending start signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Capacitors can hold charge; discharge safely if you are qualified.
- Listen for clicks: When the unit calls for dehumidification, you should hear a click from the relay and a slight hum from the compressor. If there is no sound, the start circuit may be open.
- Inspect start components: Access the compressor terminal cover and locate the start relay/overload and capacitor. Look for burn marks or melted plastic.
- Replace suspect parts: If the capacitor is bulging or leaking, replace it with the exact µF and voltage rating specified. Replace a visibly damaged relay or overload with Stadler Form-approved parts.
- Control board check: If start components are good but the compressor never receives power, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
