Possible Causes
Stuck bucket float, Misaligned bucket not engaging switch, Failed bucket full microswitch, Broken actuator tab on bucket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before working near switches.
Steps:
- Reinsert bucket: Remove and firmly reinsert the bucket, ensuring it is fully seated and flush with the cabinet.
- Inspect float: Some Sunbeam models use a float in the bucket or housing. Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed by debris.
- Check actuator tab: Look for a plastic tab or protrusion on the bucket that presses the internal switch. If broken, replace the water collection bucket.
- Test switch: Access the bucket full microswitch inside the cabinet. Press it manually with the unit powered (carefully) to see if the light goes off. If not, the switch may be faulty.
- Replace switch: Replace the bucket full switch with a compatible part if it does not change state when pressed.
