Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on control board, Faulty power cord, Failed main control board, Defective power switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening. If you are not comfortable working with mains voltage, seek professional help.
Steps:
- Outlet check: Plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet to confirm it has power.
- Power cord inspection: Examine the Sunbeam power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check power switch: Ensure the power button is not stuck and that it clicks normally.
- Access control board: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the main control board. Look for an onboard fuse (glass or ceramic).
- Test/replace fuse: With a multimeter, check continuity of the fuse. If blown, replace with the same type and rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper electrical fault.
- Board inspection: Look for burnt components or tracks on the control board. If present, replace the main control board.
