Possible Causes

Humidity set too high, Faulty humidity sensor reading low, Stuck compressor or fan relay on control board, Defective main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug before opening the unit.

Steps:

  • Settings check: Lower the desired humidity setting to 30–40% and ensure the unit is not in fan-only mode (if applicable).
  • Bucket and float: Confirm the water bucket is fully inserted and the bucket switch is engaged; otherwise the unit will not start.
  • Humidity sensor: If the room feels humid but the display shows low humidity, the sensor may be faulty. See the E3 entry for testing and replacement.
  • Relay inspection: Access the main control board and listen for relay clicks when the unit is turned on. No clicks may indicate failed relays or control logic.
  • Board replacement: If sensors and switches are good but the compressor and fan never receive power, replace the main control board.
