Possible Causes
Clogged air filter causing overheating, Faulty evaporator temperature sensor, Overheating compressor, Incorrect humidity sensor readings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning or opening.
Steps:
- Clean filter: Remove and wash the air filter. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstalling.
- Check airflow: Make sure intake and exhaust vents are not blocked and that the unit has adequate clearance.
- Ambient temperature: Avoid using the dehumidifier in very cold rooms where the coil may freeze quickly.
- Sensor checks: Inspect and test the evaporator and ambient temperature sensors as described in E1 and E2. Replace if readings are unstable.
- Compressor overheating: If the compressor is very hot to the touch and the unit cycles off, the compressor or its start components may be failing. See E5 for further steps.
