How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the control panel.
Steps:
- Dry the panel: If the panel was recently wiped or exposed to moisture, allow it to dry completely for several hours (unplugged).
- Check for stuck buttons: Press each button several times to ensure it moves freely and returns to its normal position.
- Open control housing: Remove screws securing the control panel. Carefully lift it to expose the keypad PCB and ribbon cable.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Ensure the cable is not torn or kinked and that it is fully seated in its connector.
- Clean contacts: If accessible, gently clean the ribbon contacts with isopropyl alcohol and let dry.
- Replace keypad: If E9 persists and certain buttons do not respond, replace the control panel / keypad assembly with a Sunbeam-compatible part.
