Possible Causes

Failed ultrasonic transducer disc, Mineral scaling on transducer surface, Loose transducer wiring, Faulty transducer driver circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the humidifier and empty the tank before working on the base.

Steps:

  • Inspect water chamber: Remove the tank and look at the metal ultrasonic transducer disc in the base. Heavy white scale or discoloration can interfere with operation.
  • Descale the transducer: Pour a small amount of white vinegar into the transducer well, just enough to cover the disc. Let soak for 20–30 minutes. Gently wipe with a soft cloth or cotton swab. Do not use sharp tools that can scratch the disc.
  • Rinse thoroughly: Rinse the base with clean water and dry the exterior. Avoid getting water into the electronics compartment.
  • Check wiring (advanced): If comfortable, remove the bottom cover to access the transducer wiring. Ensure the connector is firmly attached to the control board and that wires are not broken.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, refill the tank, and power on. If F1 clears and mist returns, the issue was scaling.
  • Replace transducer: If F1 persists and there is no mist, the ultrasonic transducer assembly or its driver circuit is likely faulty. Replace the transducer module with a Sunbeam-compatible part. If replacing the module does not help, the main control board may need replacement.
