Low Ambient Temperature Lockout
Dehumidifier display shows LO and unit does not dehumidify
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Room temperature below operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading too low, Unit placed near cold draft or window
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal work is required for basic checks; unplug before opening the unit.
Steps:
- Check room temperature: Verify the room is within the dehumidifier's operating range (typically above 41°F / 5°C). Move the unit to a warmer area if necessary.
- Avoid cold drafts: Do not place the unit directly in front of open windows, exterior doors, or unheated basements where localized cold air can affect the sensor.
- Reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in. If LO remains despite a warm room, the ambient temperature sensor may be faulty.
- Sensor inspection: Refer to the E1 entry for locating and checking the ambient temperature sensor. Replace if it is misreading or damaged.
