Dehumidifier fan runs but compressor never starts; no error code

Safety: Unplug the unit. Compressor circuits carry mains voltage.

Steps:

• Listen for clicks: When the unit calls for dehumidification, you should hear a relay click and the compressor start. No click may indicate a bad PCB relay.
• Inspect start components: Access the compressor and remove the start relay/PTC and overload protector. Check for burn marks or rattling pieces inside the relay.
• Test with meter: Measure compressor winding resistances and check for continuity through the overload. Replace any open components.
• Replace start relay/PTC: Install a new compressor start relay/PTC assembly matched to your compressor model.
• If compressor still does not start: The compressor may be locked or the main control PCB relay may be faulty. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
