How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning or opening panels.
Steps:
- Check compressor operation: When the unit is on and calling for dehumidification, you should hear the compressor start a few minutes after the fan. The compressor and condenser coil should become warm. If the fan runs but the compressor never starts, suspect the compressor start relay/PTC or main control PCB.
- Clean coils and filter: Remove and wash the air filter. Access the evaporator and condenser coils and gently clean dust with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Verify humidity setting: Set the target humidity to a low value (e.g., 30–40%) or continuous mode to ensure the unit is commanded to run.
- Check for icing: If the evaporator ices up quickly, see EC/E4 guidance; this may indicate low refrigerant or airflow issues.
- Professional diagnosis: If coils are clean, fan and compressor run, but no water is collected after several hours in a humid room, the sealed system may be undercharged or restricted. Contact a professional technician; sealed system repairs require specialized tools.
