Dehumidifier shows P2 and stops collecting water

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the water tank.

Steps:

• Empty and reseat bucket: Remove the water tank, empty it completely, and reinstall it firmly. Ensure it is pushed all the way in until it clicks or sits flush.
• Check float mechanism: Inside the bucket or at the bucket cavity, locate the float assembly or magnetic float. Make sure it moves freely up and down and is not stuck by scale or debris. Clean with warm soapy water and rinse.
• Inspect float switch: Many TaoTronics dehumidifiers use a reed switch or micro-switch near the bucket. Verify the switch is not loose or damaged and that its wiring is intact.
• Test with magnet (for reed switch types): With the bucket removed and the unit unplugged, locate the reed switch on the chassis. Plug in, then carefully hold a small magnet near the switch location (keeping clear of live parts). If the P2 code changes state when the magnet is moved, the switch is working and the float magnet may be missing or weak.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace the bucket float assembly or water level switch/reed switch if they are defective.
