Dehumidifier displays P3 and will not start

Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the pump or hoses. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

Steps:

• Check hose routing: Ensure the drain hose from the built-in pump is not kinked, pinched, or routed uphill beyond the pump's rated lift height.
• Clear hose blockage: Disconnect the hose and flush it with water to remove any sludge or mineral buildup.
• Inspect pump reservoir: Access the internal condensate pump assembly (usually near the base). Clean any slime, mold, or debris from the pump basin and float.
• Check pump float switch: Verify the float moves freely and actuates the internal switch. Clean or replace the float switch if it is sticking.
• Test pump operation: With the unit reassembled, pour a small amount of water into the pump basin (if accessible) and power on. Listen for the pump running and observe water discharge.
• Replace pump: If the pump does not run or only hums, replace the internal condensate pump assembly.
