Safety: Unplug the unit. High voltage and stored charge in capacitors can be dangerous.

• Listen for clicks: When the unit calls for dehumidification, listen for a click from the compressor relay. No click may indicate a control board issue.
• Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear panel to expose the compressor and its electrical box.
• Inspect start components: Remove the cover and check the PTC relay and capacitor for burn marks or bulging. Replace with TCL-specified parts if damaged.
• Test capacitor: Use a multimeter with capacitance function to verify the capacitor value. Replace if out of tolerance.
• Compressor test (advanced): Measure winding resistance. If windings are open or shorted, the compressor is defective and requires professional replacement.
