Possible Causes
Loose display-to-main board harness, Damaged communication cable, Corroded connectors, Failed display PCB or main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or covers.
- Power cycle: Unplug the dehumidifier for 10 minutes, then plug it back in. If E7 returns immediately, proceed.
- Access control panel: Remove the screws securing the top or front control panel. Carefully lift it to expose the display PCB and wiring.
- Check harness: Locate the multi-wire harness connecting the display board to the main control board. Ensure both ends are fully seated and locked.
- Inspect for damage: Look for pinched, cut, or burned wires along the harness path. Replace the harness if any conductor is damaged.
- Clean connectors: If there is visible corrosion, gently clean the connector pins with electrical contact cleaner and allow to dry fully before reconnecting.
- Board substitution: If wiring is intact and E7 persists, one of the boards is likely defective. Replace the display PCB first (often easier and cheaper). If that does not resolve the issue, replace the main control board.
