Possible Causes
Corrupted firmware, Failed EEPROM chip, Power surge damage to main PCB, Loose low-voltage connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening any panels.
- Hard reset: Unplug the dehumidifier for at least 15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and test. Sometimes memory errors clear after a full power drain.
- Check power quality: Plug the unit directly into a properly grounded wall outlet. Avoid power strips or long extension cords that may cause voltage drops.
- Inspect control board connections: Remove the control panel and access the main PCB. Ensure all low-voltage connectors (sensors, display harness) are firmly seated.
- Surge damage check: Look for burn marks, swollen components, or a burnt smell on the main PCB. If present, the board is likely damaged.
- Replace main PCB: If E9 persists after reset and connections are secure, replace the main control board with a TCL-compatible part. Transfer any jumpers or configuration plugs from the old board to the new one as per service instructions.
