Possible Causes

Any of the temperature or humidity sensors open/shorted, Sensor harness unplugged from main PCB, Control board sensor reference circuit failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug before opening the unit.

Steps:

  • Inspect all sensors: Locate the ambient temperature sensor, evaporator/defrost sensor, and humidity sensor. Check that each is firmly connected and not physically damaged.
  • Check harness: Follow the multi-wire harness from sensors to the main PCB. Look for pinched or broken wires.
  • Reseat connectors: Unplug and replug each sensor connector on the board to ensure good contact.
  • Test sensors: Use a multimeter to verify each thermistor’s resistance at room temperature and compare to expected values. Replace any sensor that reads open or shorted.
  • Board replacement: If all sensors test good, the main control board may have a failed sensor circuit and will need replacement.
