Possible Causes

Normal automatic defrost cycle, Very low ambient temperature, Evaporator partially iced, Faulty evaporator sensor reading low

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: On many Trotec models, P1 is not a fault but an indication that the unit is in defrost mode.

Steps:

  • Wait for defrost: Leave the unit powered on. P1 should clear automatically after several minutes when the coil warms up.
  • Check room temperature: Ensure the room is within the operating range specified in the manual (typically above 5–7°C). In very cold rooms, move the unit to a warmer area.
  • Clean filter and coil: Dirty filters and coils can cause excessive icing. Clean the air filter and gently vacuum dust from the evaporator fins.
  • Sensor check: If P1 remains constantly and the unit never resumes dehumidifying, inspect the evaporator NTC sensor for proper attachment and operation (see E2).
