Possible Causes
Full water collection tank, Misaligned tank not pressing float switch, Stuck float, Faulty tank full micro-switch or reed switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn the unit off before removing the water tank to avoid spills.
Steps:
- Empty the tank: Remove the water tank and empty it completely. Rinse to remove any sludge or mold.
- Check float mechanism: Inside the tank, locate the float (usually a plastic piece that moves up and down). Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed by dirt or scale.
- Inspect tank seating: Reinsert the tank fully until it clicks into place. If not seated correctly, the tank full switch will remain triggered.
- Test switch: With the tank removed, locate the tank full switch or sensor in the cabinet. Manually actuate it (press the lever or magnet) and see if the P2 indication changes when the unit is powered.
- Continuous drain setup: If using a hose, ensure the tank is still installed correctly and the hose is not kinked or blocked.
- Replace switch: If the switch does not respond or is physically broken, replace the tank full switch assembly.
