Possible Causes

Defective relative humidity sensor module, Contaminated humidity sensor from dust or cleaning chemicals, Loose sensor connector on main PCB, Failed humidity sensor input circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the humidifier from power before opening the housing.

  • Reset the unit: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. Check if E2 clears.
  • Check placement: Avoid placing the unit in direct steam, near a kitchen, or where it can be hit by aerosol sprays or fragrances. Chemical vapors can damage the RH sensor.
  • Locate the humidity sensor: Remove the top cover per the manual. The RH sensor is typically a small plastic module or open PCB near the air outlet or intake, connected by a small harness to the main PCB.
  • Inspect and clean: Ensure the sensor harness is fully seated. If there is visible dust, gently blow it off with dry air or use a soft brush. Do not use water or liquid cleaners on the sensor element.
  • Test/replace: If E2 persists, the sensor element is likely out of calibration or failed. Replace the humidity sensor module with a Venta-compatible part. If a new sensor does not resolve the error, the main control PCB may need replacement.
