Possible Causes

Blocked air intake or outlet causing poor airflow, Failed or drifting overheat thermostat/thermal fuse, Fan motor not running or running slowly, Dust buildup on internal components causing heat retention

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the humidifier and allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes before working on it.

  • Check airflow: Inspect the air intake and outlet grilles. Remove any obstructions such as curtains, furniture, or dust buildup. Maintain at least the clearance recommended in the manual around the unit.
  • Clean the unit: Remove the top cover and gently vacuum or brush dust from the fan, motor, and air channels. Do not spray water inside the electrical compartment.
  • Verify fan operation: With the cover back on, plug in and briefly turn on the unit. Confirm that the fan starts immediately and runs smoothly. If the fan does not run or is noisy/slow, unplug and inspect the fan motor and its wiring.
  • Check thermal protection: Inside the unit, locate the overheat thermostat or thermal fuse attached to the heater or air path (if your Venta model uses warm air). If it is open-circuit and not resettable, it must be replaced with the exact type and rating.
  • Environment: Avoid placing the unit in enclosed cabinets or very tight spaces where heat cannot dissipate.
  • Persistent E4: If E4 returns after cleaning and verifying fan operation, the overheat thermostat/thermal fuse or main control PCB may be faulty and should be checked and replaced by a professional.
