Possible Causes
Seized or obstructed fan impeller, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor connector, Fan driver circuit failure on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before any disassembly.
- Check for obstructions: Look through the air outlet and intake for foreign objects (toys, paper, etc.). Remove any obstruction with the unit unplugged.
- Access the fan: Remove the top cover and any internal shrouds to expose the fan assembly. Try spinning the fan blades by hand; they should rotate freely without grinding.
- Clean the fan: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust from the fan blades and motor vents. Heavy dust can overload the motor.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the fan motor connector is fully seated on the main PCB and that wires are not damaged.
- Test operation: Reassemble enough to safely power the unit. Briefly turn it on and observe if the fan starts. If it hums but does not turn, the motor is likely failing.
- Replace components: Replace the fan motor assembly if it is seized, noisy, or does not start. If a new motor does not resolve E6, the main control PCB fan driver circuit may be defective.
