Possible Causes

Severely drifted humidity sensor, Sensor contaminated by cleaning agents or smoke, Incorrect sensor type installed, Faulty calibration data in control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect from power before opening the unit.

  • Verify with external hygrometer: Place an independent hygrometer near the unit to compare readings. If the Venta display is far off, the sensor is likely out of calibration.
  • Avoid chemicals: Do not use fragrances, essential oils, or chemical cleaners inside or near the air intake. These can permanently damage the RH sensor.
  • Inspect sensor: Access the humidity sensor module and check for discoloration, residue, or corrosion. If present, the sensor should be replaced; do not attempt to wash it.
  • Replace sensor: Install a new, Venta-compatible humidity sensor module. Ensure the part number matches the original to avoid calibration mismatch.
  • Control board: If a correct new sensor still triggers E8, the calibration or ADC circuit on the main control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
