How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and remove the upper housing.
- Check for binding: Try to rotate the evaporation disk stack by hand. It should turn smoothly. If it is stuck, remove it and clean off heavy scale and debris.
- Inspect drive coupling: Look at the connection between the motor shaft and disk stack (direct shaft or gear). If the coupling is cracked or stripped, replace the disk stack drive coupling.
- Gear inspection: If your model uses a gear train, inspect gears for missing teeth. Replace the drive gear set if damaged.
- Drive motor test: If the fan and disk are driven by separate motors, test the disk drive motor for operation and continuity. Replace the disk drive motor if it does not run.
