How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspection.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure the unit has adequate clearance on all sides and that intake/exhaust grilles are clean.
- Check cord and plug: Inspect for looseness or heat marks. Replace the power cord if suspect.
- Inspect motors: Check if the fan motor or compressor is extremely hot when the unit shuts off. A tripping thermal protector indicates a failing motor.
- Internal connections: Open the housing and check for loose connectors on the main PCB and to the motors. Reseat all firmly.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace an overheating fan motor or compressor as needed. If relays on the main control PCB chatter or fail intermittently, replace the board.
