• Listen for clicks: When the unit calls for dehumidification, listen for a click from the compressor relay. No click may indicate a control or relay issue.
• Check start components: Access the compressor terminal cover and inspect the start relay and overload protector for burn marks or loose connections. Replace if damaged.
• Test compressor (advanced): With power disconnected, use a multimeter to check compressor winding resistance and for shorts to ground. Replace the compressor if windings are open or shorted.
• Control board: If compressor and start components test good but never receive power, the main control PCB or relay is likely faulty and should be replaced.
