Possible Causes
Child lock feature enabled, User interface locked by long-press, Stuck or partially pressed control panel button
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the humidifier OFF and unplug it before pressing hard on any stuck buttons. Do not use sharp tools on the control panel.
- Disable child lock: On most Vicks digital humidifiers, press and hold the Power button or the Lock icon button for 3–5 seconds until “CL” disappears from the display.
- Try alternate combo: If that does not work, press and hold Power and Timer together for 3–5 seconds (varies by model). Check your user manual for the exact key combination.
- Check for stuck keys: With the unit unplugged, gently press each button several times to free any that may be stuck. Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try disabling the lock again.
If “CL” remains and the keys do not respond, the control panel membrane or PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
