Possible Causes
Stuck float in base, Faulty float switch or reed switch, Disconnected float sensor wiring, Mineral buildup around float chamber
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug before removing the tank or base components.
- Clean float area: Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water from the base. Inspect the float (usually a plastic piece that moves up and down). Soak the base area in a 50/50 vinegar and water solution for 20–30 minutes to dissolve scale, then rinse.
- Check float movement: Manually move the float up and down. It should move freely and return smoothly. If it sticks, clean again or replace the float assembly.
- Inspect reed switch: If accessible, locate the small glass reed switch near the float magnet. Ensure its wires are intact and connected to the PCB.
- Test operation: Reassemble, refill the tank, and power on. If E4 persists, the float switch or reed sensor may need replacement.
