Possible Causes
Room humidity above setpoint, Humidistat set too low, Faulty humidity sensor, Unit placed too close to hygrometer or wall
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep the unit away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Check humidity setting: Increase the target humidity on the control panel (e.g., from 40% to 55%) and see if the unit resumes operation.
- Relocate unit: Move the humidifier to the center of the room, at least 12 inches from walls and away from vents so the humidity sensor reads the room air, not the mist plume.
- Ventilate slightly: If the room is already very humid, open a door or vent to reduce humidity.
- Sensor check: If “HI” appears even in a dry room, the onboard humidity sensor (often a small module on the control PCB) may be faulty and require replacement.
