Possible Causes
Wick filter saturated with minerals, Wick not wicking water, Low water level in tank, Incorrect or non-OEM wick installed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug before handling the wick or tank.
- Check water level: Ensure the tank is full and properly seated so water flows into the reservoir.
- Inspect wick: Remove the wick filter and check for stiffness, discoloration, or strong odor. A hard, crusty wick cannot absorb water and must be replaced.
- Replace with correct wick: Install a genuine Vicks or compatible wick designed for your model (e.g., Vicks V3700 series wick). Soak a new wick in water for 5–10 minutes before first use.
- Clean reservoir: Rinse the reservoir and base to remove any slime or mineral buildup that may block water flow to the wick.
