Dehumidifier display shows incorrect room humidity (far from actual)

Safety: Unplug before accessing the sensor.

Steps to correct humidity reading:

• Verify with external meter: Use a reliable hygrometer to compare actual room humidity to the dehumidifier display.
• Clean sensor area: Remove dust from around the humidity sensor housing with a soft brush. Do not spray cleaners directly on the sensor.
• Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is in the incoming air stream, not touching the cold coil or near the warm exhaust.
• Replace humidity sensor: If readings remain inaccurate by more than ~5–10% RH, install a Whirlpool-compatible humidity sensor assembly.

Test: After replacement, compare readings again with an external hygrometer to confirm improved accuracy.
