Dehumidifier display works but buttons do not respond or respond intermittently

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing the control panel.

Steps to restore button function:

• Dry the panel: If condensation or spills occurred, allow the unit to dry for several hours unplugged.
• Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel bezel and ensure the ribbon cable is fully seated and not damaged.
• Check for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connectors. Clean gently with contact cleaner.
• Replace keypad/UI board: If specific buttons never work or the membrane is bubbled or cracked, install a Whirlpool-compatible control panel or UI board.

Test: Reassemble and verify that all buttons respond reliably.
