Possible Causes
Clogged air filter, Blocked intake or exhaust grille, Dust-packed evaporator coil, Obstructed blower wheel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or removing panels.
Steps to restore airflow:
- Clean or replace filter: Remove the air filter, wash with warm soapy water, rinse, dry completely, and reinstall. Replace if torn or heavily clogged.
- Clear grilles: Vacuum dust and lint from the front intake and top/rear exhaust grilles. Ensure furniture or walls are not blocking airflow.
- Inspect evaporator coil: Remove the front cover to access the coil. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove debris from between fins. Do not bend fins.
- Check blower wheel: Inspect the blower for foreign objects (plastic, insulation) and remove them. Ensure the wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft.
Test: Reassemble and run the unit. You should feel a strong, steady airflow from the exhaust.
