Dehumidifier leaks water onto the floor instead of into the bucket or drain hose

Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any water to prevent slipping. Avoid getting water on electrical components.

Steps to fix leaks:

• Inspect bucket: Remove the bucket and check for cracks or overflows. Replace if damaged. Ensure it seats fully when reinstalled.
• Clean drain channel: Locate the drain hole at the back of the bucket compartment or under the evaporator. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear slime and debris. Flush with warm water.
• Check drain hose (if used): Ensure the hose is firmly attached, slopes downward continuously, and is not kinked or blocked. Remove and flush the hose if necessary.
• Check for coil icing: If the evaporator is icing heavily, melt the ice and address airflow or temperature issues that cause freeze-up.

Test: Reassemble, run the unit, and monitor for at least 30 minutes to confirm that water flows correctly into the bucket or through the hose without leaking.
