Possible Causes

Faulty humidity sensor, Incorrect humidity calibration, Very leaky or damp space, Control board not responding to sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug before accessing internal sensors.

Steps to diagnose continuous running:

  • Verify actual humidity: Use a separate hygrometer to compare room humidity to the setpoint. If the room is actually at or below the setpoint, the unit should cycle off.
  • Check humidity sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is not touching the cold coil or located in a dead-air spot. It should be in the incoming air stream.
  • Inspect and test sensor: Check wiring and resistance of the humidity sensor. Replace if readings are out of range or do not change with humidity.
  • Control board: If the sensor is good but the unit never cycles off, the main control board may not be processing sensor data correctly and may need replacement.

Test: After sensor or board replacement, run the unit and confirm that it shuts off when the room reaches the set humidity.
